Lanco Well Site Explosion – Wrongful Death Lawsuit
It was reported that Chevron agreed to pay $5 million to settle a wrongful death suit involving Ian Robert McKee, who was killed in an explosion at the Lanco Gas Well Site in Dunkard Township, Pennsylvania in February 2014. McKee was working at the site as a contractor to Chevron Appalachia when the well exploded. In May 2015, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection fined Chevron $940,000 for state environment, health, and safety law violations arising from the incident (see ChevronTexaco instance, “Lanco Well Site Explosion – Pennsylvania Fine”).
