Providing Inaccurate Medicare Benefit and Coverage Information

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) fined Health Net $86,530 for failing to provide accurate benefit and coverage information in documents instructing Medicare beneficiaries how to choose health care and prescription drug options. CMS concluded that 8,653 members were not provided accurate information with regard to the maximum out-of-pocket amounts.
