Bullock v. Volkswagen, et al. (Volkswagen Passat Crash)

A federal jury awarded Cheryl Bullock and her husband $8 million in a case involving a September 2011 automobile accident in which Cheryl was permanently injured. Bullock’s 2004 Volkswagen Passat GLS TDI suddenly accelerated out of her control, causing the vehicle to leave the road and overturn. The lawsuit alleged that Volkswagen Group of America and Honeywell International were aware that a defect in the vehicle’s turbo charger, manufactured by Honeywell, could cause sudden acceleration. The jury found that Cheryl Bullock was 40 percent responsible for the accident and that Volkswagen and Honeywell were 60 percent responsible.
