Hoosick Falls, NY Pollution Class Action

Residents of Hoosick Falls, New York sought damages from Honeywell International and other companies for allegedly contaminating the public water system and private wells with perfluorooctanoic acid. The contamination was traced to a manufacturing plant in the village once operated by Honeywell predecessor AlliedSignal Corporation. The plaintiffs claimed that their homes lost value and that they were concerned about future health effects. In July 2021, Honeywell and two other companies agreed to pay $65.25 million to settle the case.
