Kranson v. FedEx (Disability Discrimination)
A federal jury awarded $382,197 in damages to Tim Kranson, a FedEx employee who was fired after he went on disability leave after suffering a workplace injury. Kranson, who exhausted 90 days of medical leave provided by company policy, was discharged from his position. FedEx then eliminated the vacant position. The jury found that FedEx violated Kranson’s rights under California law by failing to offer him a reasonable accommodation for his disability.
