Zofran Products Liability Litigation

Over 250 families filed suit against GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis Pharmaceuticals alleging the anti-nausea drug Zofran causes birth defects. The plaintiffs claim that Glaxo unlawfully promoted Zofran as a morning sickness treatment without federal regulatory approval, and that Novartis had knowledge of the false and misleading promotion. The plaintiffs allege the companies knew Zofran increases the risk of congenital heart defects and other potentially life-threatening conditions in developing embryos and fetuses.
