European Truck Producer Cartel

The European Commission (EC) fined four truck manufacturers, including Daimler, € 2.93 billion (US$3.2 billion) for illegal collusion between 1997 and 2011. Daimler was fined € 1 billion (US$1.1 billion). All of the companies acknowledged their involvement. The Commission found the companies colluded on the pricing of medium and heavy trucks and on passing onto consumers the costs for complying with European Union emissions standards.
