HIV/AIDS Discrimination Complaints

The Center for Health Law and Policy at Harvard Law School teamed up with other organizations in several states to file formal complaints with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights against Humana and several other insurance companies. The complaints allege the companies routinely deny coverage for or limits access to HIV medications through prohibitively high cost sharing requirements, in violation of the Affordable Care Act.
