Clean Air Act Violations at Puerto Rico Plant
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fined Pfizer Pharmaceuticals $190,000 for not disclosing chemical information at its plant in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico as required by the federal Clean Air Act. An EPA inspection of the facility in 2014 found ammonia and methylamine present in amounts above the regulatory limit and without proper disclosure to the EPA.
