California Truck and Bus Emission Regulation Violations
Halliburton Energy Services paid $410,000 to settle alleged violations of California diesel truck and bus emission regulations. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) alleged that Halliburton operated 61 heavy-duty diesel trucks in California from 2012 to 2014 without the required diesel particulate filters and failed to verify compliance for its hired motor carriers. The company agreed to pay a $154,400 civil penalty and spend $255,600 on environmental projects in the Los Angeles and San Joaquin Valley areas.
