Military Aircraft Engine Contract Violations
General Electric paid $2.55 million to resolve violations concerning Department of Defense contractual requirements. The government claimed that, from July 2010 through April 2014, GE subsidiary Avio Aero failed to consistently perform interim pressure tests on gearboxes used in T700 and F110 engines in military helicopters and fighter jets, respectively, in violation of contracts with the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The government also alleged that Avio did not provide notice of the skipped tests, but rather stamped documents to indicate that such testing had been conducted.
