Anchorage Port Expansion Lawsuit
CH2M Hill Alaska paid the city of Anchorage, Alaska, $1.5 million to settle a lawsuit over a failed port expansion project. CH2M Hill was sued because in 2007 it acquired Veco Corporation, one of the contractors that worked on the project. The port expansion, which began in 2003 and was stopped in 2010, cost more than $300 million and left the city with an unusable dock.
