Keshock et al. v. Metabowerke GmbH et al. (Unsafe Workplace)

Austal USA employees sued the company over a power tool at its Mobile, Alabama, shipyard they claim is dangerous and defective. The tool, a power-driven angle grinder, is manufactured by Metabo Corporation. The plaintiffs claim the defendants modified the tool (converting it into a “miller saw”) in contravention of the operator’s manual, industry safety standards, and federal safety regulations. The plaintiffs claim dozens of employees have been injured by the tool.
