Fenner v. General Motors (Evading Emissions Standards)

Consumers who own or lease 2011-2016 model year General Motors Duramax diesel trucks filed a lawsuit claiming GM installed in the trucks devices designed to cheat U.S. emissions tests. According to the lawsuit, GM installed three distinct “defeat devices” that enabled the trucks to pass the tests while discharging emissions two to five times higher than the legal limit, exposing the public to increased levels of nitrogen oxide pollutants.
