New York City E-Rate Program Investigation

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) entered into a consent decree with Verizon to resolve an investigation into whether Verizon violated the rules of the E-Rate program when it provided products and services to the New York City Department of Education between 2002 and 2015. Verizon agreed to implement a compliance plan and return $17,325,000 to the E-Rate program. Verizon also agreed to forfeit legal rights to hundreds of millions of dollars in undisbursed Universal Service Fund E-Rate monies.
