Underpayment of Wages at HHS Call Centers
The Communications Workers of America (CWA) filed complaints with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division alleging General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is committing “systemic and serious” wage violations at its Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services call centers in multiple states. The complaints allege GDIT misclassifies its call center agents at a lower prevailing wage rate than their job duties merit. CWA estimates that tens of thousands of current and former GDIT employees are owed more than $100 million in back wages.
