Black Leaf Chemical Superfund Site Cleanup

Exxon Mobil agreed to pay an undisclosed amount in cleanup costs at the Black Leaf Chemical Superfund site in Louisville, Kentucky. Exxon Mobil is the corporate successor to the Virginia Carolina Chemical Corporation, the former owner and operator of the property. Testing at the site revealed elevated levels of pesticide and arsenic. The current owner of the site, Louisville Industrial Park LLC, claimed to have suffered damages in excess of $20 million.
