Clean Air Act Violations at XTO Energy’s Fort Berthold Indian Reservation Facility
The U.S. government reached a settlement with Exxon Mobil subsidiary XTO Energy to resolve alleged Clean Air Act violations at XTO’s well production facility on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in North Dakota in 2014 and 2015. XTO agreed to pay a $320,000 civil penalty, undertake corrective actions, and implement an environmental mitigation project.
