U.S. ex rel. Hawkins v. ManTech International (MRAP False Claims)
Several former ManTech employees allege the company violated the False Claims Act and the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act on a contract with the U.S. Army to maintain and repair Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles at the Kuwait Maintenance Sustainment Facility. The plaintiffs allege ManTech knowingly failed to meet material requirements of the contract and falsified data. They claim ManTech failed to employ qualified mechanics and disguised its incompetence in repairing and maintaining MRAPs. Additionally, the plaintiffs allege ManTech engaged in human trafficking by forcing its mechanics and technicians to work in isolated, lawless, and chemically-toxic environments.
