Crane et al. v. CoreCivic (Illegal Wiretapping at Leavenworth Detention Center)

Adam Crane and David Johnson, attorneys who represented clients detained at the Leavenworth Detention Center, alleged CoreCivic (formerly the Corrections Corporation of America), which manages the facility, and Securus Technologies, which provides telephone and video conferencing services at the facility, improperly recorded, stored and shared confidential attorney-client communications, in violation of Kansas and Missouri wiretap laws. In July 2020, CoreCivic and Securus agreed to settle the lawsuit for $3.7 million.
