Alleged Hanford Site Small Business Subcontract Fraud
Washington Closure Hanford (WCH), a joint venture owned by AECOM, Bechtel National, and CH2M Hill, agreed to pay $3.2 million to resolve alleged violations of the False Claims Act in connection with small business subcontracts at the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site. The government alleged that WCH knowingly misrepresented a subcontractor company to be a legitimate and eligible small disadvantaged business in order to receive two multi-million dollar subcontracts. The government alleged the subcontractor company was used as a “pass-through” front company.
