Inspection of McPherson, Kansas, Hospira Plant

A U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) inspection of the McPherson, Kansas, manufacturing facility of Pfizer’s Hospira unit in July and August 2018 found multiple problems involving manufacturing practices and quality assurance. Inspectors found deficiencies—many of which had been flagged previously—with regard to the investigation and reporting of contamination, cleaning and disinfecting procedures, the testing of samples, and employee training.
