Wall v. Hewlett-Packard (Failure to Timely Pay Wages)
Hewlett-Packard salespeople filed a class-action lawsuit alleging the company paid earned incentive compensation late and failed to timely pay final wages, in violation of the California Labor Code. The salespeople alleged that, for several years, the company’s pay tracking systems miscalculated their commissions. In January 2019, the court approved a settlement in which HP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (Hewlett-Packard split into two entities in 2015—HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company) agreed to pay $25 million.
