California Labor Violation Lawsuits

FedEx Supply Chain, Inc. (formerly Genco I, Inc.) paid $3.15 million to settle two class-action lawsuits filed in California alleging various labor law violations. In one, the plaintiffs alleged that pre-employment background checks FedEx requested violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act and California law because applicants did not receive adequate pre-screening disclosures. In the other, the plaintiffs alleged FedEx violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and California law by not providing meal and rest periods, not paying for all hours worked, and not providing accurate wage statements.
