Padovano, et al. v. FedEx Ground Package System (Driver Misclassification)

A lawsuit filed on behalf of hundreds of individuals who worked as drivers for FedEx Ground Package System in New York State claimed the company misclassified them as independent contractors. As a result, they claimed they were not paid all wages due and bore expenses that should have been borne by FedEx. In April 2019, FedEx settled the lawsuit, agreeing to pay a total of $3.1 million to drivers who worked for FedEx in New York between October 2007 and September 2016.
