Sweetland, et al. v. GlaxoSmithKline (Avandia Class Action)

GlaxoSmithKline agreed to pay out CAD$3.67 million (US$2.7 million) to settle a lawsuit filed in Nova Scotia, Canada, by consumers who claimed the diabetes drug Avandia caused cardiovascular problems, including heart attacks and congestive heart failure, and that GlaxoSmithKline failed to provide consumers adequate warning of the risks.
