Generic Drug Price Fixing – Multistate Lawsuit
A coalition of 44 states filed a lawsuit against 20 of the nation’s largest generic drug manufacturers—including Pfizer and Novartis’ Sandoz division—alleging a conspiracy to artificially inflate and manipulate prices, reduce competition, and unreasonably restrain trade for more than 100 different generic drugs. The lawsuit, which also names 15 individual executives, alleges the defendants engaged in a multi-year, coordinated and systematic campaign to conspire with each other to fix prices, allocate markets, and rig bids.
