Air Pollution Violations at Port Arthur Refinery

The Texas attorney general’s office filed a lawsuit against Valero Energy alleging the company’s Port Arthur, Texas, petroleum refinery “emitted multiple air contaminants without authorization” as a result of “operator error and poor maintenance.” The state claims that approximately 38 “emissions events” have occurred at the refinery since 2014.
