Violation of U.S. Economic Sanctions on Cuba

General Electric agreed to pay $2.7 million to settle allegations that its subsidiaries violated U.S. economic sanctions on Cuba between December 2010 and February 2014. According to the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), current and former GE subsidiaries allegedly received 289 checks totaling more than $8 million directly from a Cuban entity blacklisted by the U.S.
