Opioid Distribution Violations in California

The California Board of Pharmacy assessed AmerisourceBergen $150,000 in costs and penalties for failing to ensure that controlled substances were furnished for a legitimate medical purpose when it shipped opioids to four pharmacies when certain “red flags” were present, and for failing to report suspicious orders to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
