Meister v. Verizon New Jersey et al. (Personal Injury)
Verizon New Jersey Inc. paid $125 million (plus $216,180 in legal expenses) to resolve claims by Maria Meister, who was injured in Union City, New Jersey, in January 2017 after a rotted utility pole fell and hit her. The pole was jointly owned by Verizon and Public Service Electric & Gas. PSE&G allegedly ordered Verizon to remove the pole in 1999.
