Generic Topical Dermatological Drug Price Fixing Multistate Lawsuit
A coalition of 51 U.S. states and territories filed a lawsuit alleging a conspiracy by generic drug manufacturers to artificially inflate and manipulate prices, reduce competition, and unreasonably restrain trade for 80 generic topical dermatological drugs from 2009 through 2016. The lawsuit names 26 corporate defendants—including Pfizer and Novartis’ Sandoz division—and 10 individual defendants. The drugs at issue include creams, gels, lotions, ointments, shampoos, and solutions used to treat a variety of skin conditions, pain, and allergies.
