Metro Fibernet LLC v. AT&T et al. (Customer Poaching)

AT&T settled a lawsuit accusing it of falsely telling customers of Metro Fibernet LLC that it had acquired the company to prompt them to switch services or upgrade equipment. MetroNet accused both AT&T and third-party contractor Clear Home Inc., who marketed and sold AT&T services, of misleading customers. The lawsuit alleged Clear Home told customers in Indiana that AT&T had purchased MetroNet and they would now have to sign agreements with AT&T. (The parties are in the process of negotiating the terms of the settlement.)
