U.K. Ministry of Justice Contract Fraud

G4S Care and Justice Services (UK) Ltd. (G4S C&J) entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the U.K. Serious Fraud Office (SFO) to resolve allegations of procurement fraud. G4S C&J paid a penalty of £38.5 million ($49 million) plus £5.9 million ($7.6 million) to cover the cost of the SFO’s investigation. G4S C&J accepted responsibility for three offenses of fraud arising from a scheme to dishonestly mislead the U.K. Ministry of Justice as to the true extent of its profits between 2011 and 2013 from its contracts to provide electronic monitoring services.
