In re. Mercedes-Benz Emissions Litigation
Daimler AG and its subsidiary Mercedes-Benz USA reached an agreement to settle for approximately $700 million a consumer class action alleging the companies unlawfully misled consumers into purchasing certain “BlueTEC diesel” vehicles by misrepresenting the environmental impact of these vehicles during on-road driving. The lawsuit alleged Mercedes installed a “defeat device” that turned off or limited emissions reductions during real-world driving conditions.
