Lordstown Plant Tax Incentives Refund

General Motors agreed to repay the state of Ohio $28 million in tax credits for reneging on a promise to keep its Lordstown assembly plant open. The state claimed GM, which closed the plant in October 2019, violated the terms of economic development agreements it entered into in 2008. GM also agreed to provide an additional $12 million in community support for the region where the plant was located.
