Clear Air Act Violations at 12 Facilities in 7 States

Valero Energy Corporation paid a $2.85 million civil penalty to settle claims that it violated the Clean Air Act at 12 facilities (11 oil refineries and 1 import facility) located in Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, New Jersey, Arkansas, Indiana, and New York. As part of the settlement, Valero also agreed to install pollution controls at its Port Arthur, Texas terminal and to complete two benzene reduction measures at its refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
