Failure to Recall Vehicles in a Timely Fashion
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) entered into a two-year consent order with Daimler Trucks North America following an investigation that found the company failed to recall vehicles in a timely fashion and to comply with other reporting requirements. Daimler agreed to pay a $30 million civil penalty ($15 million of which was deferred pending satisfactory completion of the requirements of the consent order).
