Z-axis Location Technology Settlement

AT&T and Verizon entered into consent decrees with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requiring them to provide vertical location data (aka “z-axis location coordinates”) to help 911 responders find callers in multistory buildings, and to pay $100,000 settlements for failing to meet the FCC’s deadlines for deploying z-axis location technology in the nation’s largest 25 markets.
