Arizona Dust Mitigation Violations

The U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a $150,000 civil penalty against Fisher Sand & Gravel as part of a settlement for failing to comply with dust mitigation regulations at three of its Maricopa County, Arizona facilities. The enforcement action stemmed from EPA and Maricopa County inspections conducted in 2010 that identified 17 violations for failing to perform various measures to reduce particulate matter emissions.
