District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency False Claims
Maximus paid $30.5 million and entered into deferred prosecution and corporate integrity agreements with the U.S. government to resolve an investigation of Maximus’ activities under a contract with the District of Columbia’s Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA). The government alleged that Maximus’s employees, including a former company vice president, violated the False Claims Act by causing CFSA to submit claims to the Medicaid program for services that had not actually been provided.
