Deceptive Marketing of Transvaginal Surgical Mesh Devices

Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary Ethicon paid $116 million to settle multistate claims of deceptive marketing of transvaginal surgical mesh devices. The states claimed J&J misrepresented the safety and effectiveness of the devices and failed to sufficiently disclose the risks associated with their use.
