Unfair and Deceptive Marketing of Risperdal – Montana Settlement

Johnson & Johnson subsidiaries Janssen Ortho and Janssen Pharmaceuticals paid the state of Montana $5.9 million to settle claims of unfair and deceptive marketing of the antipsychotic drug Risperdal. The state alleged that Janssen actively deceived Montana physicians and consumers when it promoted Risperdal as safe and effective for a variety of conditions, when in fact Janssen was aware of its dangers and severe adverse side effects.
