Illegal Pesticide Use at Northwest ICE Processing Center

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found GEO Group in violation of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) for using a pesticide in a manner inconsistent with its labeling at the Northwest ICE Processing Center (NWIPC) in Tacoma, Washington in the fall of 2020. The EPA found that detainees were made to apply pesticides at the facility without personal protective equipment or adequate access to clean clothing.
