U.S. ex rel. Marsteller et al. v. MD Helicopters (Foreign Helicopter Sales False Claims)

Two MD Helicopters employees accused the company of overbilling the U.S. Army on helicopter sales with foreign governments between 2010 and 2012 by maintaining an improper relationship with an Army contracting officer. In September 2021, a jury found MD Helicopters fraudulently induced the Army into contracts with Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Saudi Arabia and awarded $36 million in damages. In June 2022, MD Helicopters reported that it reached a mediated $31.5 million settlement with the Department of Justice and the employees.
