U.S. v. Forkner (Misleading the FAA’s Evaluation of the 737 Max)

Mark Forkner, a former chief technical pilot for Boeing, was indicted on fraud charges for allegedly misleading a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) evaluation of the Boeing 737 Max and withholding crucial information about the plane’s flight controls. The government alleges that when the FAA was inspecting and certifying the aircraft, Forkner intentionally withheld information about the plane’s automated flight control system, and thus crucial details were left out of manuals and pilot training materials.
