Failing to Timely Submit Winter Preparation Plans in Texas

The Public Utility Commission of Texas fined Shell Oil Company over $2.3 million for failing to timely submit winter weather readiness reports as required by state regulations. Shell Oil failed to submit winter preparation plans for four power generation units at its Deer Park refinery near Houston.
