Aerosol Sunscreen Marketing, Sales Practices, and Products Liability Litigation

Johnson & Johnson and Costco Wholesale Corp. paid a total of $4.85 million to settle lawsuits over the presence of benzene, a cancer-causing substance, in several recalled Neutrogena and Aveeno-branded aerosol sunscreen products. As part of the settlement, Johnson & Johnson agreed to provide $1.75 million in vouchers toward future product purchases.
