Unpaid Excise Tax on Medicine Production

Regeneron paid the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau $250,000 to settle alleged violations of the Internal Revenue Code. The government alleged that, from January 2008 to April 2013, Regeneron used tax free alcohol in the commercial production of medicines and was liable for excise tax on the spirits.
