Violations of Nuclear Safety Requirements

On May 16, 2005, the Department of Energy issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (PNOV) to McDermott subsidiary BWXT. “The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) concluded that violations of 10 CFR Part 830, ‘Nuclear Safety Management’, Subpart A, ‘Quality Assurance Requirements,’ and Subpart B, ‘Safety Basis Requirements,’ had occurred.” The proposed civil penalty for these violations was $123,750.
